What is a Holiday Table?




This is my Thanksgiving table.  But it could be a Christmas table too.  It's a holiday table.

 What is a holiday table?

It's pretty....








It's intimate....







It's yummy....







It's a feast for the eyes...




It's inspired by nature...




It's a place for everyone to gather and celebrate and be grateful for what they have.

What makes a holiday table special?

The sparkle....




The glow....





Elegant details....that aren't too fussy or precious.





Something fun and whimsical at each place setting...






Pretty collectibles that you have gathered over the years...









The gleam of silver...








A favorite flower...

A holiday table evolves and lingers...




...so that you can sit down the next day and enjoy those leftovers in style.

    What a pretty, pretty table you've created, Melissa. It's simple yet elegant--the perfect mix for what I call a "real" table, as opposed to ones we create to express our creativity but aren't really conducive for real family gatherings. Thanks for sharing it with us. ~Zuni

      Thank you Zuni! That's exactly why the centerpiece is low-- so that we can talk to each other across the table!

    Ah Melissa, your special touch reigns supreme. I'm thinking Holiday Tablescapes too, but mine will feature a lovely cobalt and dove grey plaid this year. That said you've still given me food for thought with wee birds and whatnot, so it's all about making ideas your own, isn't it. Thanks for sharing at Five Star Frou-Frou! Love Mimi xxx
